Since 2003 the
Rooftop Rodeo has annually been ranked

in the country by the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association
(PRCA). The Rooftop Rodeo was awarded top honors
in 2003, 2006, 2008 and 2009. Construction of the Town's new grandstand began October 15th.
A photo gallery is available on the main Events page if you'd like to

Dust
off your cowboy hat and polish those spurs! The 2010 Rooftop Rodeo will kick off with

beginning Tuesday and continuing through Sunday, July 11th at
The Fairgrounds at
Stanley Park. The Midway opens nightly at 5:30 p.m. Don't miss the
mechanical bucking bull, face-painting, balloon animals, exciting vendors, great
food, a display of Dodge trucks and more before each rodeo performance. Check
the schedule to find
all of the information you'll need for a great time at the Rooftop Rodeo!

PRCA Events
Saddle bronc riding, steer wrestling, tie-down roping, bareback
riding, barrel racing and bull riding are
the PRCA-sanctioned events guaranteed to entertain and astonish each evening's audience. In
addition people won't want to miss the antics of this year's rodeo clown. With
a backdrop of the majestic Rocky Mountains, join us for one of Colorado's most scenic rodeos!
Mutton
Bustin' & Calf
Scramble
PLEASE NOTE: (May 4, 2010) The
pre-registered slots for this year's Rooftop Rodeo Mutton Bustin' have been
filled. However, the names of four children will be selected in a lottery
drawing each evening to take part in the event. You must register your child at
the Mutton Bustin' booth before 7 p.m. to be eligible for the lottery.
Back by popular demand, the Mutton Bustin'
competition offers youngsters a chance to start their own rip-roaring rodeo
careers. Each night 10 children between the ages of 5 and 8 have the opportunity
to ride sheep with the goal of hanging on as long as they can. In 2009 we
launched a Calf Scramble to provide an opportunity for children 8 to 12 to
become
involved. For more information about entering either
Mutton Bustin' or the Calf Scramble, call 970-586-6104. Registrations will be
accepted beginning April 1, 2010.
Rodeo Parade
Kicking off rodeo week festivities will be the
annual
Rooftop Rodeo Parade along Elkhorn Avenue on Tuesday, July 6th at 10:30 a.m. Bands,
groups on horseback, floats, unique automobiles, rodeo royalty and more add a
distinctively western flavor to Estes Park as the colorful entourage makes its
way through downtown to
the fairgrounds.
If your group or organization is interested in participating in the parade,

Behind the Chutes
Tours
Have you ever thought about what it feels like to be a rodeo cowboy or
cowgirl? Well, one way to experience it is to take a
Rooftop Rodeo "Behind the Chutes" tour. Your group will be led by a tour
guide who will explain the history of the Rooftop Rodeo and ranching in
the Estes Valley. Next the Franzen family, owners of our stock
contractor Powder River Rodeo,
will talk about professional rodeo and what happens behind the chutes.
You'll have the opportunity to see more than a million dollars worth of top-rate bucking broncs, bulls,
steers and roping
calves up close. You'll also have a chance to visit with the rodeo
announcer, the rodeo clown and maybe even a few rodeo cowboys, as well.
This is truly a memory making experience
for the entire family! When ordering your rodeo tickets be sure to ask
about the Behind the Chutes tours. Passes are $10 for adults and $5 for
children ages 11 and under. All funds raised go toward supporting
the Rooftop Rodeo. There is only one tour each evening and it begins at
5:45 p.m. The gates open at 5:30. Hope to see you there! Call 970-586-6104
beginning April 1, 2010 to make
your
reservations.
Queen's Dance
The Annual Rooftop Rodeo Queen's Dance will take place at 8:30 p.m. Saturday, July 10th at
the Conference Center. Music will be provided by the Mad Cow Posse. Tickets are
$12 per person and may
be purchased beginning April 1st by calling the Fairgrounds Office at
970-586-6104. They will also be available at the door. The Conference Center is
adjacent to the Holiday Inn at 101 South St. Vrain Avenue.
