Norman Pritchard
A native
Coloradoan, Norman and wife Dee reside in Estes Park and are co-owners of the
Black Dog Inn. They began operation of the Inn 3.5 years ago. In spite of
forest fires, economic downturns, and political misstatements, they achieved
double-digit growth each year.
Both he and Dee
have enjoyed the practice of broad scale "Classic Marketing" during the
majority of their professional lives. Norm's initial entry into the
business milieu was from the medical laboratory arena.
Norman holds
degrees of BA in Chemistry, MA in Liberal Studies, and PhD in Theology. He
also holds an Adult Theology Instructor Certificate from Regis University.
Norman is an Associate Member of the American Society of Clinical Pathology,
American Marketing Association, and an Ordained Minister with a Doctorate in
Divinity. Graduate MBA studies were at the Graduate School of Business at
the University of Chicago, and Indiana Graduate School of Business. Undergraduate and Completed
Graduate studies were at Regis University (Denver), University of
Colorado (Boulder), and ULC (California).
Norm has served as guest lecturer at Southwest Michigan College and part
time professor of Clinical Chemistry at Goshen (Indiana) College.
He served in
the US Navy from 1956 to 1962, and honorably discharged after achieving the
rate/rank of Hospital Corpsman First Class.
He has traveled
extensively throughout North America, Europe, the Middle East, Japan, and
Australia. These experiences offered many opportunities to negotiate
successfully between different cultures, lifestyles, perceptions, attitudes,
and personalities. Following a no-nonsense notion that "There is no
progress without conflict," Norman addresses differences with an eagerness
to convert problems into progress.
Norman believes
in the principles associated with the term "SYNERGY." That is,
rarely, can ONE of anything accomplish as much or as
efficiently as can two different, but distinct entities. Simply, he
actually believes that one PLUS one equals three!
